Setting forth out of Whittier, AK.

The glaciers of Blackstone Bay, AK.

The kayak trip out of Whittier was a great success. We had four days of bluebird skies, something that is almost unheard of as Whittier was built as a military base because the 300+ days of overcast a year made it invisible to the radar technology of the 1940’s.  Below is a video of us kayaking through ice at one of the glaciers in Blackstone bay. Other notable parts of the trip included eating fresh caught pink salmon every night, spotting sea otters, black bears & bald eagles, jumping of an iceberg and meeting some local characters.
